The Fabulous Spelling Bee
To start with, the plot showed a sense of happy and optimistic. I nearly laughed from the beginning to the ending and smiles kept on my face for the entire two hours. The humorous language and conversations were easy to understand. Besides humor, some significant principle of life were expressed in the play which I believed to be meaningful. Logainne SchwartzandGrubenniere taught us to win the game by one's own ability rather than trap others. Leaf Coneybear taught us to believe ourselves. Marcy Park taught us not to live in expectations and stress, but live to be happy. William taught us that magic never exist if we do not have the true ability. Olive Ostrovsky taught us that friendship is more important than the champion. They were representative of students in the world, and they had different characteristics. Although they were sometimes rude, selfish or arrogant, they were all kind and friendly in their deep hearts. The play has emphasized these precious personalities deeply.
Furthermore, the songs were brilliant. A lot of songs were presented, they sometimes introduced the background, sometime described the situation and sometimes expressed the emotions of characters. The beautiful voices of the actors not only harmonized each other, but also the plot and spirits of the play. It must be really hard for the actors to sing while moving and facing. But they all did it perfectly.
Last but not least, actors devoted themselves into the play that they seemed to be the real characters rather than pretending. They were emotional and patient, catching all the audiences' attention and feelings. Every movement of them showed the distinct personality of the characters precisely. Personally, I like the character Marcy Park best. She is the brightest kind of girl who has a lot of skills and can always achieve her goals. I always want to be a person like her, who is the star and center of the world. However, her choice really surprised me and led me to deeper thinking.
In conclusion, this show is absolutely worthy the see and I wholeheartedly recommend everyone to see the meaningful and fun play. You will definitely have a good time with those interesting story, beautiful music and fantastic characters.

Spelling Bee
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a long one-act musicalcomedy conceived by Rebecca Feldman with music and lyrics by William Finn, a book by Rachel Sheinkin and additional material by Jay Reiss. The show centers on a fictional spelling bee set in a geographically ambiguous Putnam Valley Middle School. Six quirky adolescents compete in the Bee, run by three equally quirky grown-ups.(http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_25th_Annual_Putnam_County_Spelling_Bee)
This show talks about the story happens during the 25th annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. It is a spelling competition held in a high school. There are essentially 9 characters who have distinct characteristics. The teacher Rona Lisa is the best realtor in Putnam County and is the former of the Putnam County Spelling Bee champion. She loves children and has a nice personality. She also believes in equality thus declares that everyone has the equal chance of winning and her favorite moments of the competition are the beginning and the end. Mitch Mahoney is a friendly teacher and always gives students orange juice. Olive Ostrovsky is a new speller who has a father cares about him very much. William is the winner of the Spelling Bee. He has an often-mispronounced last name: it is Bar-FAY, not BARF-ee. He is famous for he method of spelling, "Magic Foot". Logainne has an interesting life with her two gay father. She likes to give comments on politics. Marcy is a great language speaker that she could speaks six language. She is also talented, tough and hard working. Leaf can spells words without concentration and he always claims himself not to be smart.
One of the most interesting part of the play is that audiences are invited to involve in the play. Besides six major spellers, three other spellers are in the group the Audiences. This makes the play a lot more attractive. In conclusion, I am really expectant to see the play. See you on saturday!

Lyrics
A Sky Full of Stars-Coldplay
Cause you're a sky,
你便是天空
cause you're
a sky full of stars
因为你便是那漫天繁星
I'm gonna give you my heart
我愿我为你献出我心
Cause you're a sky,
因为你便是天空
cause you're a sky full of stars
因为你便是那漫天繁星
Cause you light up the path
因为你将漫漫前路照亮
I don't care,
go on and tear me apart
我不在乎,若你让我心碎
I don't care if you do
我不在乎
Cause in a sky,
因为在你星辰之上
cause in a sky full of stars
因为在你星辰之上
I think I saw you
我遇见了你
Cause you're a sky,
因为你便是天空
cause
you're a sky full of stars
因为你便是那漫天繁星
I want to die in your arms, arms
我愿在你怀里永眠
Cause you get lighter the more it gets dark
因为夜雾愈黑,你愈发璀璨
I'm going to give you my heart
我愿我为你献出我心
And I don't care,
我不在乎
go on and tear me apart
若你让我心碎
And I don't care if you do
我不在乎
Cause in a sky,
因为在你星辰之上
cause in a sky full of stars
因为在你星辰之上
I think I see you
我遇见了你
I think I see you
我遇见了你
Because
you're a sky,
因为你便是天空
you're a sky full of stars
你便是那漫天繁星

Defending the Field Trip
Defending the Field Trip
There is an old saying in China that knowledge comes from experience. Nowadays, students spend a lot of time concentrating on text books, listening to teachers in the classroom or watching documentaries to gain knowledge they need. Luckily, there are filed trips which help students to release their pressure, get more interested in study and understand theories better. In my opinion, the experience students learn from field trips is a lot worthier than the tuition fees our school pays for, thus field trips should definitely be defended.
To start with, field trips help student to release pressure and be willing to study. Students spend most of their times memorizing the theories and fighting with homework and tests. This makes students feel tired and bored about studying and even refuse to study. Here is an example of my friend. She used to be an extremely creative girl and was really good at biology. However, after weeks' studying, she started to become quiet and refused to share her creative ideas about study with me. Instead, she did not finish her homework on time anymore and got bad grades on tests. When I ask her why, she said that learning biology could not make her understand creatures at all. Things all changed when her teacher took the whole class to a field trip. They did not go far away but to a near pond to discover some organisms inside. After that, she told me she started to know the meaning of learning biology and was interested in it again. Field trips can trigger the interests of students in study and help them find the fun thing about knowledge.
Furthermore, field trips help students understand theories better. Text books and teachers always try to squeeze all the important knowledge into our brain. However, memorization is not permanent. Only if students understand the theories deeply by experience it, are they able to remember and use them in the future. For instance, I am really bad at history and always cannot remember the events that happened in the past. During the winter break, I went to a history museum and everything has changed. The exhibits on shown and the tour guide helped me build a time line in my mind which was extremely useful in my further study. Although it was not a field trip, it worked and made me understand the theories and knowledge better. Therefore, field trips must work a lot better since they are always related to our recent study.
In conclusion, field trips are meaningful study strategies which can help students on both mental health and school work. Although field trips may cost some money, they are important and the effects of field trips are significant. Field trips should never be canceled but been valued and increased.

Twist twist twist
During the past two weeks, we have worked on the story with a twist in the ending. Some stories are funny and some are impressing. On the basis of the dictionary, "a twist in something is an unexpected and significant development". The goal of this writing is to give an unexpected ending which no one can imagine until the last few sentences.
My first choice of the favorite story is my own one. This was my personal experience which really surprised me and became a joke in my entire family that every year my mom will mention for couple of times to make fun of my dad. I still can remember my feeling of that second when my father zips up his zipper. In this story, I have written a lot of details to describe my father's action and my mental changes. Besides, couple of similes have been used to describe how cold the weather is. In this way, readers can easily understand the situation I am facing. My language is also really funny. I have spent a lot of words to explain my expectation and how gentle my father is, in order to lead readers to the wrong direction just like me. I think it is successful and I am satisfied with this twist.
Second, I am interested in the story "Where is My Phone". Firstly, the description of the nice day in the begging is beautiful. Personal feeling is added into the weather and environment to make the day extremely cute. Furthermore, a large amount of words are used to describe how important and rare is the chance for him to get. Therefore, readers like me would be worry when he cannot find his phone. I know that the phone call is important and to tell the truth, I really want to help him figure out where his phone is.
When he finally find his phone, I feel a cense of release. Last but not least, the ending is really funny and concise. I can understand it before he explains that the phone is in his hand.
Thirdly. I like " The Man in The Darkness". The story does not start with the exact event but a dream of the writer. Nina has structured a scary character in the darkness who is chasing her at the beginning of the story. This gives us an clear image of what she has seen. "Lord Voldemort" is a really visual description since most of us know how scary he is. The ending of the story is sententious and clear. Readers don't have to think or imagine any further to figure out what is happening.
In conclusion, we all have done a good job in this project and details are extremely of importance. Details can catch readers interests, promote the plot and express emotions freely. We should all work on details to make our writing better and better. Besides, we can be more creative rather than always write the simple and boring things in our lives.
