The winter with 8 meals a day
I can still remember that when I first attended this class, my introduction included that " I do not like the food here." Chinese Food, one of the most important thing for me, has left my life for a long time, which every day seems to be a year. Finally, I can get back to China and enjoy the life with 8 meals a day.
An old saying has spread in China for centuries that people should eat breakfast like an emperor which indicates the importance of breakfast. As for my breakfast, I bet that my grandmother would make porridge with pork and egg inside. I can still remember the smell, like the grass which has suffered a day's rain, finally meets the sunshine. You can't see rice particles at all since they have been blended after stewing for a long time. However, the red pork is remarkable in the porridge which seems to be apples hiding inside the snow. To match the flavor, my grandma always makes some kimchi. Most of it is chopped into small pieces, and poured with capsicol. Don't destain the kimchi just because it is an ornament. Without the homemade kimchi, the breakfast would not be completed just like the screw. Although a screw is really small, without it, a huge machine would not be able to work.
I hope that I could do some work or read books after the warm breakfast, however, I guess that I would get back to my huge bed and spend my entire morning resting there. After every muscle in my body is willing to move a little bit, I will try to get up. Guess what I would like to do? Yes! Eating lunch! How many kinds of noodles have you tried? As for me, decades. The most normal noodles are mixed with beef or ribs. More special or characteristic, with a dozen of ingredients. For my everyday lunch in China, I always eat noodles with chicken giblets. Don't be scared or disgusted by the chicken giblets. I used to be afraid of it too, however, I promise that you will never be regret if you try it once.
Red, red, red. This is what I see first. My favorite meal for dinner, Little pieces of chicken with a large amount of chili completely make my day. The brown-colored chicken is chopped into particles which makes it easily to absorb the flavor. Scarlet chili is separated around the chicken pieces and even conceals them. I take a pair of chopstick and start to seek. It is not easy at all. My target is hidden inside the chili army, with some other similar ingredients as shields. Nevertheless, how can they escape? I stir in the huge bowl and pick out every small pieces of chicken. It is the best food I have ever eaten! It is spicy, but not that spicy, and it is even a little bit sweet. There are still other flavors I can not recognize since they are all mixed together. However, because of the mixture of ingredients, one of my favorite meals is able to be completed.
Chinese foods, I would like to describe them as a culture. Every plate can be described as a taste of life. For my winter break, I plan to taste Chinese cooking culture little by little. I believe that I will have a great journey and hope not to be 130pounds after I get back to America.

The blue straw, straight but stands a little bit slant, catches my eyes first. On the top of the straw, some bite marks significantly emerge since I usually bite the straw with my teeth. Rotating the straw, it leads to the spinning of water and vortex shows up. Looking down along the straw, the cover of the bottle stops my eyesight. Some spray appears on it, unevenly and thin. Five circles lie on the cover, from small to big, like the orbits of planets. However, it seems to become a little dirty since I always use the bottle to drink tea and hardly brush it. Keeping looking down, the straw shows a zigzag status in the water. This reminds me of some fun memories. I remembered that my grandfather spent nearly two hours to explain why straight chopsticks transform to zigzag when I looked at them through the water. He described in many ways while I could not understand even in one way. His face turns red and spoke faster and faster. I finally got laugh while I saw his red nose which turned to a strawberry on his face.
The most apparent sign which distinguish the bottle from others are the blue words "Cheshire Academy" in the middle of it. A claw, the symbol of cats, is sitting between "cheshire" and "academy". I hope that the transparent water in the bottle could be hot thus I can hold it to warm my hands. Unfortunately, the weather becomes extremely cold now. The bottom of the bottle is a lot smaller than the cover since the bottle is an up side down traffic cone. What makes me surprised are the words writing on the surface of the bottom: made in China. How amazing to know that the bottle I got from my foreign school is also made in China while there prints a huge "Cheshire Academy" sign on the body.
However, the other bottle of mine which is also made in China shows a large amount of differences. To begin with, the top of the bottle has no straw but a huge hole in pink, with transparent plastic covering it. To tell the truth, I don't believe that the weak plastic cover could prevent the water from spilling. However, the color of the bottle is my favorite. Light pink with mint green have caught my eyes since I first saw it. The body of the bottle is so enormous that I cannot even hold it with one hand. The scale sticks on the body of the bottle in special way since it is not horizontal but slant. The scale varies from 100 milliliter to 1000 milliliter. I always remember what my mom told me that in order to be beautiful and healthy, girls should always drink 2000 milliliter's water a day. That is really a harsh requirement for girls like me who hate to drink water. Looking at the bottom of the bottle, words on it drive me confused. In order to figure out the meaning of BPA-free, I start to surf the internet. Fortunately, the result makes me satisfied since BPA- free means that I could pour boiling water in the bottle and would not be poisoned.
Which bottle do you prefer? To be honest, I can not make this hard decision. The first bottle can reminds me of my childhood and my dear grandfather while taking a sip from the second colorful bottle, the water would tastes like a rainbow.

Walking slowly along the lane
The red wall, which becomes my favorite when I first see it, stands just beside the front gate of the school. The sunshine drops down on the ground and the wall from the gaps between the leaves. Those trees are huge that I cannot even surround the trunk when I hug them with my arms open and they are arranged orderly in a line from the entrance to the end of the lane in front of the school. I always think about taking wedding photos with bright laugh on my face in front of the red wall.
Walking into the school slowly, what first shows up in front of my eyes are trees. In my hometown, the leaves of trees hardly change colors. However, there is a specific kind of trees which would change color during autumn and tell people that autumn is coming. The leaves turn yellow while most fall from the tree since they are mature enough. There is an old saying, "Falling leaves return to roots——to revert to one's origin." That is what I fell wholeheartedly at this time. Seeing these trees, I feels safety that I am now getting back to my origin. Walking along the path, there are leaves everywhere on the ground. To my surprise, some are even gathered into a shape of heart.
Getting into the silent school building, the scene I see is kind of different from the school in the United State. Approximately 60 students are ranking in a classroom while the teaching is writing something in the blackboard. This is where I used to be. Sitting in a small classroom which cannot even put my legs straight. Although the a academic knowledge was difficult to understand and there was a bunch of homework, I still miss the old days which I could stay with my classmates all the time and did nearly everything with them together.
Finally the bell rings, indicating that class is over and I can eat lunch with my best friend. To tell the truth, what I like most, is not the school, but the small restaurants surrounding the school. The scale of those restaurants are not big at all, however there are many of the most traditional and tasty foods. It seemed that I can eat 5 meals a day because of the cuisine.
These are what I basically did during Thanksgiving, visiting my old school, enjoying my favorite food, hanging out with friends and wasting most of my time. The break was kind of short for me to get back to China. Although in a rush, I still had a good time and enjoyed myself. Life is complicated, however, as long as we slow down our pace of walking and enjoy the specialism around us, we will be able to find out that life is really beautiful.

Magic Bowl ——by Nina Yang
Catchy beginning with detailed description, this story really reminds me of my childhood. Of course I did not have a magic bowl which could wash itself every time right after I finished meals. However, I do have my magic grandmother who is much cooler than the bowl. The innocent language in the story pulls me back to a summer when I was four. I left with my magic grandmother in the countryside and it seemed that she could read my mind. She always used colorful bowls with flowers on the edge to hold my favorite food and washed the bowls clean and shiny after the meal.
Planning For Thanksgiving Break. ——by Sera
Dialogues are not a lot in this story but vividly described the excitement of "going home" which cause resonate of me. Every time before I go back home, I will be really exciting and pass a day as if it were a day. The emotion is really accurate.
A Place that Only Welcome Me. ——by Gordon
This topic is really catchy and warm. The descriptions are detailed and show the tiny parts in the room which make people feel warm and welcomed.

The bottom of the bottle is a lot smaller than the cover since the bottle is a circular truncated cone. What makes me surprised are the words writing on the surface of the bottom: made in china.
